Dominica WebRing is a ring of websites about Dominica. Its mission is to connect Dominica-related websites to each other. Members of the ring place navigation code to their homepage which allows surfers to browse from one site to another.
How much does it cost to join to Dominica WebRing?
It costs nothing to join to the ring nor to be a member of it.
Is any kind of content allowed in the Ring?
No. The so-called 'adult sites' are not allowed in Dominica WebRing. And anyway, the site should be at least partially about Dominica. Moreover, if the site is only partially about Dominica the ring code has to be placed in Dominica section and not on the main page of the site. RingMaster has right to decide which sites are accepted to the ring and which are not.
Yes, you need. If you don't have one you will get it when joining to the ring.
Should I use HTML or SSNB navigation code?
In most cases you should use the HTML navigation. Please read the following two questions to find out which one is better in your case.
What are the benefits of HTML navigation?
HTML navigation is cross-browser compliant. Compared to the SSNB, it does not require JavaScript to work. This is particularly important for visually impaired users who use screenreaders as well as to those who surf the web with mobile devices. Also, search engines do not understand JavaScript.
Some users have also had problems with SSNB navigation breaking down if they make changes to their website. HTML navigation is less vulnerable to that.
What are the benefits of SSNB navigation?
If your webpage belongs to several Webring.com webrings, using SSNB navigation requires you to have only one piece of code for all webring memberships.
Has the navigation bar be placed to the very same page which I have in the ring?
Yes, it has. Of course you can change the URL in the management area but anyway the page where navigation is located has to be exactly same as the one which you have in the ring. Please note that changing URL may break the Javascript SSNB navigation. It is recommended to use the HTML navigation instead (see instruction on the Join page).
How can I remove my site from the ring
Just log in to Webring.com and choose "My Rings". There you can choose if you want to leave the ring. If you have any problems, send an e-mail to mantsarinki@yahoo.com and ask him to remove your site.
